FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Which products is the template intended for?
Partly completed machinery within the meaning of the Machinery Regulation: drive units, handling modules, feeding systems, robot arms without end effector and other assemblies that only fulfil a specific function once incorporated into final machinery. For complete machinery, use the operating manual template instead.
Is the declaration of incorporation included?
Yes, as Annex A with all mandatory details under Annex V Part B of Regulation (EU) 2023/1230: manufacturer, person authorised to compile the technical documentation, identification, applied requirements, undertaking to transmit documentation, commissioning reservation, signature. Until 20 January 2027 the details under Annex II Part 1 Section B of the Machinery Directive apply, which are largely identical.
May I provide the assembly instructions to the integrator in digital form only?
From 20 January 2027, yes (Art. 11(7) Machinery Regulation), provided the means of access is indicated on the partly completed machinery or in an accompanying document, the instructions can be printed, downloaded and saved, remain accessible during a malfunction and stay available online for at least ten years. If the integrator requests a paper copy at the time of purchase, it must be supplied free of charge within one month.
How do I keep assembly instructions and the declaration available for ten years?
With a fixed access point per unit of partly completed machinery that does not depend on the company website. docks.io stores assembly instructions, declaration of incorporation and language version under one permanent QR code, versioned: the integrator scans it, and market surveillance can still find it ten years later.
